It is a stiff, non-melting silicone lubricating material that maintains its consistency from -40 to 204°C (-40 to 400°F). It is used in applications similar to those for Dow Corning® Stopcock Grease, and is the recommended replacement for that product. Previously known as Dow Corning 976 or 976V High Vacuum Grease. Any specifications calling for Dow Corning 976 or Dow Corning 976V can be satisfied with Dow Corning High Vacuum Grease. CHEMICAL RESISTANCE: - Insoluble in water, methanol, ethanol, acetone, glycol and glycerine. - Unaffected by most vegetable and minerals oils, many organic compounds, and most common gases. - Resistant to most aqueous solutions of inorganic salts and to dilute acids and alkalies.
