1.5”-2.5” MANGROVE SNAPPER rare brackish saltwater aquarium fish *PLS READ DESC*

Description: PLEASE READ THE WHOLE DESCRIPTION BEFORE PURCHASING!* This listing is for one approximately 1.5”-2.5”mangrove snappers (Lutjanus griseus) shipped via UPS Next Day Air. Mangrove snappers (Lutjanus griseus), also commonly referred to as gray snappers, are native to the east coast from Massachusetts to Brazil, however adults are rare north of the Carolinas. They are a common "Gulf Stream stray" and are often carried by the Gulf Stream current as fry and deposited throughout the summer in coastal waters up the east coast. It is thought that they do not survive the winters up north, which explains why specimens found north of the Carolinas are typically juveniles. They are a popular sportfish and common table-fare throughout their range and are farmed by several aquaculture operations worldwide. While mostly associated with marine and brackish waters there are few populations existing in freshwater. Their presence in the aquarium trade is limited however these beautiful fish can adapt to a wide variety of salinities and make for active and beautiful additions to larger aquariums and ponds. I've had a lot of fun keeping juveniles of this species and have found them to be very curious and personable fish, especially when kept in multiples. Currently available animals are field-collected and have been through a preventative quarantine and treatments as necessary. Care Level: Beginner-intermediate. Salinity (SG): 1.004-full marine. Diet: Primarily carnivorous, feeding on various aquatic invertebrates and small fish. Not picky in aquarium and will except a variety of foods. Adult Size: Up to 35” is possible, although they typically don’t exceed 16”. pH: 7.4-8.5 Water Temp: 60-80F Other Care Preferences: While this species can survive in freshwater, brackish or marine conditions are likely ideal long-term. NEVER release your fish into the wild or stock public waterways without permission from a government agency! If you have problems with your order please contact us BEFORE contacting eBay and we will do our best to work it out. *We are a licensed dealer and propagator of reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, and fish in the state of Pennsylvania. All of our native and game fish (including bullfrogs, northern green frogs, and their tadpoles) come from licensed dealers and propagators with proof of receipt (available upon request to government agencies only). We WILL NOT under ANY circumstance sell any herptiles or fish collected from the commonwealth of PA, so please do not ask!* Terms of Service: PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING *Only sections pertaining to fish and aquatics are relevant to the fish offered in this ad* Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG) Policy: Live arrival is guaranteed on all FedEx Priority Overnight and UPS Next Day Air shipments unless there is an error or delay by fault of the carrier or in the rare event of any “acts of God” (e.g. natural disasters) that would result in delays, mishandling, or damage to the package. Any residential deliveries not immediately received from the carrier (e.g. left sitting outside) or otherwise not received upon on the first delivery attempt are not eligible for our LAG. For residential deliveries our LAG is only valid when daytime highs are above 38F or below 90F. We strongly advise having packages held for pickup at your nearest FedEx hub location as this can greatly reduce the risk of potential shipping and handling complications. If you would like your package held at a FedEx hub for pick up you MUST request this in the order notes at checkout. We DO NOT currently offer this option for UPS Next Day Air shipments. At FedEx hubs the packages are held indoors and are much less likely to experience delays or mishandling, the packages typically arrive at the hubs early in the morning and can be picked up at anytime during their normal operating hours with a valid government ID. Any address or shipment information changes made during transit on behalf of the customer void our LAG. In the rare event that an animal(s) is dead on arrival (DOA) clear pictures of the dead animal(s) in its original shipping container are required within an hour of delivery or the LAG is null and void. - For any fish that arrive DOA a picture of the dead fish in the original unopened bag must be sent to us within one hour of arrival. - Refunds and credits are offered for the cost of the animal(s) only. Shipping costs are always nonrefundable. Two-day Shipping Options: - FedEx 2Day shipping is available on most invertebrates and fish with no LAG.
