These Victorian lithographs were all printed in the 1860's, and all show items and collections that were exhibited at the 1862 World's Fair International Exhibition in London. This is an original 11 5/8" by 16 1/2" color lithograph, printed in 1863. The quality is exceptional. Printed in London, on double-weight paper, by Day & Son, Lithographers to the Queen. Displays beautifully. The lithograph was protected from light and never displayed, so the brilliant lithography is as bright as the day it was printed. No rips, tears, holes, or repairs, and never mounted. Some foxing and toning to white margins, as shown. Backside is blank. Lithograph will shipped loosely rolled, and placed in a protective tube for shipment. As mentioned above, THIS IS AN ORIGINAL ANTIQUE LITHOGRAPH, NOT A COPY OR REPRINT. ******************** The International Exhibition of 1862, or Great London Exposition, was a world's fair. It was held from 1 May to 1 November 1862, beside the gardens of the Royal Horticultural Society, South Kensington, London, England, on a site that now houses museums including the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. The exhibition was a showcase of the advances made in the industrial revolution , especially in the decade since the first Great Exhibition of 1851. Among the items on display were; the electric telegraph, submarine cables, the first plastic, Parkesine , machine tools, looms and precision instruments. Exhibits included a range of smaller goods including fabrics, rugs, sculptures, furniture, plates, porcelain, silver and glass wares, and wallpaper.
