Your battery is only 65% as powerful at 0 degrees as it is at 80 degrees (Fahrenheit) and your engine (with i's cold thick oil) requires more than twice the power to turn over! That is a bad combination,... you need more than twice the power and you have just 65% of the battery's rated capacity available! - Fix that issue with a good battery warmer! What sets this heater apart from cheap imitators?: 1). It features a molded rubber cord and heater sheathing (not cheap harder plastic, like some competitors) that will stay more flexible in frigid temperatures (no cracking). 2). The heating element's effectiveness is improved with the use of 3M's unique and patented Thinsulate insulation, keeping the heat against the battery, where you want it. 3). The cord is installed into the blanket with a brass grommet, to avoid tearing of the insulation over time. 4). This heater is oil and acid resistant and is flame retardant. 5).
