Description: Vintage 14K Yellow Gold & Enamel Hand Carved Shell Cameo Brooch Pin measuring approximately 1 5/8"L x 1 3/8"W, and weighing approximately 10.89 grams. This beautiful cameo shows the great skill that this artist brought to the carving, from her delicate features to the pearls running through her wavy hair, violet garland at her shoulder and the graceful gather of her gown. The cameo is bezel set with milgrain edge and wire wrapped base. Surrounding the bezel is a scalloped enamel edge with colors of green, black and orange. The clasp catch is marked 14K, and the frame has also been tested as 14K. The clasp is an early handmade safety catch which dates this piece to between 1890 - 1920*(please see condition). This is a beautiful piece to add to any collection of cameo jewelry and brooches and pins. My father and my husbands father brought back many lovely pieces of jewelry, porcelain, clothing, perfumes, and household items to their new and future brides upon their return from Europe after WWII.
