Description: A truly magnificent pair of Sterling Silver Salt & Pepper Shakers in the "Repousse" or "Rose" pattern. These are all solid, not weighted. These were made by Jacobi & Jenkins of Baltimore, MD, Jenkins and Jenkins began as A. Jacobi in 1879. It was succeeded by Jacobi and Jenkins in 1894 and then became Jenkins and Jenkins in 1908. So these date to that period of 1894-1908. This type pattern became very popular in the mid 1900s and was manufactured by a number of silversmiths. Most notably those in Baltimore, including S. Kirk, Stieff, Schofield, etc. At that time, these silver manufacturers employed hundreds of craftsmen, who made these pieces by hand. The "Repousse" or "Rose" pattern remains highly popular even today, and is much sought after by collectors and lovers of antique silver. These beautiful salt & pepper shakers are footed and measure about 3 3/4 inches tall. Again, they are not weighted, but solid. They are in excellent condition, well maintained. No dings or dents. Maybe minor scuff mark on the bottom. Amazing, considering the age of these. They are marked inside the cap as shown in the photo. Marked sterling and with the Jacobi and Jenkins mark. They have a single beautiful "D" monogram on the bottom. However, if you do not want the monogram, it can be buffed off by a jeweler or silversmith. This same pair of salt & pepper shakers sold on a VERY HIGH END website for $550. You are free to make an offer. I am happy to entertain any and all offers. Shipping is insured Priority Mail.
