Description: Beautiful plum antique 1920s 30s silk velvet sleeveless waistcoat, long line vest or gilet is bias cut and full length. The velvet is 100% silk, the old lightweight kind with the sheen. It is very soft and drapey. Adorned with intricately beaded appliques it has a wide silk satin lined velvet waist sash in a contrasting eggplant color. The top heart shaped applique can be removed (hook and eye, see photo #6) the one below snaps on one side. The waist closes with snaps. This piece is very versatile and could be worn over a long or short dress, a slip dress or with shorts, skirt or pants. Condition is excellent with 3 pinholes and one 1/4" hole in back (all hard to see), no stains, fading and the fabric is strong.
