Flash is covered in plastic and comprised to faded red felt with two pieces of applied white felt with a white felt outline. Enameled DUI has Caveat on it. Flash is 2" long and slightly over 1 1/2" wide. Flash and DUI are attributed to the 172nd Infantry Brigade and 561st Engineer Company. This is an early and original Beret Flash from the Vietnam Era. It should be noted that some histories indicate that his is the 562nd Engineer Company. The flash is obsolete.172nd Infantry Brigade and the 561st Engineer Company were stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska during the Vietnam Conflict. Flash & DUI show wear/tear associated with age. Flash comprised of two piece felt. Red is faded. Covered in bowed original plastic. DUI posts are bent in order to hold it on to flash.
