Description: Here is a wonderful exhibition poster from the Galerie Maeght in Paris celebrating the work of Alberto Giacometti that took place in 1957. Giacometti was a Swiss sculptor, painter, draftsman and printmaker who lived and worked in Paris. His sculptures have sold in excess of 100 million dollars on the secondary market. He helped to revolutionize sculpture with withered, elongated human forms. His influences were Cubism, Surrealism and African sculpture and his works are in the Tate Gallery, the Guggenheim Museum, MOMA and the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. to name just a few. He lived from 1901 to 1966. I believe this poster was framed sometime in the 1980s/90s but no way to know for sure. It's a very striking piece of minimalist art set off very nicely by the blue matte and thin black frame. Thanks for looking.
